When you need help meeting urgent financial needs, the NMCRS is there. With 50 full service offices co-located with Navy and Marine Corps installations, and nearly 200 emergency service offices staffed by volunteers on ships and deployed units, Marines and Sailors have access to emergency assistance 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, from almost anywhere in the world.
Quick Assist Loans
When you need money fast, our Quick Assist Loan (QAL) program may be the answer. There’s no application fee or appointment needed to get a interest-free loan up to $500. Learn more at www.nmcrs.org/QAL.
When a natural, catastrophic disaster happens, emergency financial assistance is available to help with the unplanned expenses related to evacuation (gas, food, and lodging) and aftermath repair to homes and cars and to replace food, clothing, and basic living items.
Combat Casualty Assistance Visiting Nurse Program
Our specially trained Registered Nurses provide combat-injured members and their caregivers with health care information and resources related to their combat service injuries. This service is available to anyone with seen and unseen injuries related to their Navy or Marine Corps service during OIF, OEF or OND , for as long as they need it.
Traditional Visiting Nurse Program
Registered Nurses make free house calls to new mothers and their babies, active duty members assigned to bed rest, and retirees and widows or widowers living alone and in need of assistance from a health care professional. Visiting Nurses help patients understand breastfeeding, nutritional requirements, post-partum care, medications, how to cope with chronic illness, and answer questions regarding a wide spectrum of health care issues.
Zero-interest loans or scholarships to attend undergraduate education at an accredited educational institution in the United States are available. For more information about our various programs and application processes go to www.nmcrs.org/education.
Budget for Baby Workshops
Welcoming a newborn into your family is exciting. Budget for Baby Workshops help expectant parents budget for baby’s expenses and learn to be financially prepared for this lifetime financial commitment. Each family receives a welcome baby gift bag containing baby supplies worth more than $80.
NMCRS Thrift Shops accept and provide gently used, low-cost clothing, uniform items, and household goods which can make furnishing a nursery for baby or setting up housekeeping for the first time, or after a PCS move, less expensive.
